What do I do?

I had an exam that I wasn't at all prepared for as I was feeling really unwell that past 2 weeks. I went to the exam as on that morning I felt a bit better. Turns out I needed surgery and went to the ER the next day. I've just found out I failed the subject [got 48]. Is there anything I can do? Any kind of special consideration etc?

I think you're supposed to apply for special consideration within a few days of doing your exam. Best call your student center ASAP tomorrow and see what your options are.

EDIT:

Quote
Students must submit an application for Special Consideration via my.unimelb no later than 5pm on the third working day after the submission/sitting date for the relevant assessment

So I guess you are late for special consideration. I still think you should try calling 13melb and/or then be directed to the appropriate Student Center sometime tomorrow.

If you had surgery and went to the ER, then I'm sure there is something that can be done about it. They may allow you to take an extra assessment so that you pass the subject, or they may allow you to gain special consideration. Get onto it as as soon as possible. Best of luck mate.
