FINA10036: The body, of facts and fictions.
the handbook entry makes it sound a lot more impressive than it was. it was essentially just drawing naked people. :'D seriously was a ton of fun, granted i'd been wanting to try out life drawing for years and years. Also was the biggest bludge ever. most people did literally no work at all outside of class (three hours a week), except for writing a 1000 word essay. XD;;
You have to be a bit careful with Fine Arts subjects. Some can be complete bludges while others can be an absolute nightmare in terms of workload. The subject outlines don't distinguish between these very well either.
The postgraduate Arts unit that I had to complete for my teaching course consisted of a 6,000-7,000 word folio that was falsely advertised as a 1,400 word folio, which consisted of drawings, descriptions of techniques/key media used in said drawings, outline of possible extension activities, additional resources, and analysis of all weekly readings. Oh, and did I mention that the Fine Arts component was only one-third of a 12.5 CP subject?
My friend who completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at Monash also complained about many sleepless nights finishing her folios.
Needless to say, those experiences turned me off Fine Arts completely!
