Not with contentions and quotations and "proper" body paragraphs, mind - but a LOT of writing with lots of content. And it has to sound logical and thought-out.
[Update: full for 2018.] I give Legal lectures through CPAP, and am an author for the CPAP 'Legal Fundamentals' textbook and the Legal 3/4 Study Guide.
Available for private tutoring in English and Legal Studies.
Experience in Legal 3/4 assessing; author of Legal textbook; degrees in Law and English; VCE teaching experience in Legal Studies and English. Legal Studies [50] English [50] way back when.

It's an English based subject so strong English Skills will be a huge benefit. You don't really write essays but the big 8 and 10 mark questions in the exam will need clear and coherent paragraphs.

In my view, structure is pretty important in Legal Studies. Your teacher and/or marker wouldn't want to read a whole slab of text that runs down the whole page. The easier your responses are to read, the better.
