Transfer & exchange Qs

Hi, I was wondering whether if you're transferring from another uni (ANU) you still have to do the compulsory first year foundation subject for the Melbourne degree (BA)? And are you generally able to transfer credits over easily from the subjects you've completed at another uni? Also for exchanges are you only able to use up your electives or can you take units that count towards your major? Thanks heaps!

That said, it's very difficult in practice to find a subject that can contribute towards your major and sometimes enrolment isn't guaranteed.  Therefore, to ensure full time enrolment overseas and also that you graduate on time you should aim to take electives and breadth where possible.

I'm trying to transfer to Arts at UoM (needs 75% average minimum) at the end of the year. When they calculate your average, is it weighted in some way? Like, do some subjects count more while others count less?
