Question regarding VCE

Hi, I am a Year 10 student who is currently undertaking Chinese SLA 1/2 as a VCE elective. I frequently receive a 12/20 for my essays in this subject, which is "poor" in terms of my expectations. Should I continue with this subject next year - that is, is this subject worthwhile in the respect of achieving a high atar score in the future?

To put this into perspective, I am English-oriented person,  whereas next year I am going to select VCE electives that are relevant to Science and Mathmatics, which are:  Chemistry 1/2, physics, math methods, GMC and English Language.

mod-edit (laser): edited font size to normal.

First of all, does your font size need to be so large?

Second of all, are you enjoying Chinese SLA? If you are and you reckon you can improve in the subject then definitely go for it. Doing a broader and diverse range of subjects will definitely be 'refreshing' in VCE compared to doing just complete maths & science. Also consider the scaling benefits of Chinese.

Nope, unless you're willing to put in tonnes of effort. To be honest, I doubt you'll get a high study score for Chinese with marks like those, even considering scaling. Obviously improvement is possible, but it simply isn't worth doing unless you actually like the subject (which doesn't seem to be the case).

Yeah

Look VCE is a stressful year if you want a high score and you're doing subjects you ENJOY. Take subjects you want to learn in, because you'll get so much more out of the year if you make it about learning rather than scoring well. If you do that, the scores come by themselves.

luyangliu1 , any reason why your query is in size 50-ish font?

edit: looks like this has already been asked. Whoops! I should have read all the replies first.

Do not do Chinese unless you're willing to put in work, even after tons of hardwork you could still get a very undesirable study score. VCE Chinese, at all levels, is very corrupt and full of politics, unless you're willing to play the game, don't do it.
