Is doing 2 3/4s in year 11 a good idea, having not done 1/2s for either.

How many 3/4s did you guys do in year 11?

Cheers

I did two  3/4 this year and the workload was fairly manageable. I did further 3/4 after doing accelerated maths in yr 10 which included general maths and I'm also doing revs 3/4 without doing it in year 11.  Lot's of students drop from methods into further and the content is taught all over again so you shouldn't have any trouble. Doing two 3/4's is  probably the best thing you could do for yourself, just make sure you talk to a teacher who teaches Business Management in year 11 and so if there is some work you can do to prepare for next year.

Good luck :)

Definitely do two Units 3/4. I did methods 3/4 in year 11 after I self taught 1/2 in year 10, and Japanese without doing 1/2. As mentioned above, the workload should be fairly manageable. But a suggestion is that you should do subjects you really enjoy, but not just doing the "easy" subjects. I see you are considering further and bus man, but you should be picking this two as you like them, not just they are commonly believed to be easy.

I regret only doing 1 (not like it was my choice, school didn't let me do 2), but yeah. Definitely do 2 if you have the option.

At least you got to do one.
I'd definitely do two if I had the opportunity to go back (I did none and just bludged/went out/played games in year 11).

But hey, life's not perfect.

I think it depends on if you can manage to do two this year.  Doing 2 units 3/4 should be manageable but you need to remember that you have sacs and assignments for all other subjects that you do.  Not saying that units 1 and 2 are "important" but still you need to spend some time on them to get the foundation/pass.

Doing 2 is really good; it alleviates the stress from year 12, and gives you ample time to spend on other subjects that require quite a bit of time. Yes, there's no denying the fact that there is a lot of work that comes with doing two year twelve subjects, and a lot of skill in order to find the balance between your 1/2s and 3/4s. However, it'll all work out in the end if you're organised.

I'm definitely glad I'm doing two!

Sometimes I wish I did just one 3/4 in year 11, so I actually spent a bit more time studying for my 1/2s.

Doing one 3/4 in Year 11 makes Year 11 a bit easier, doing two 3/4s in Year 11 makes Year 12 a bit easier. It ultimately depends on how ready you are for VCE. I particularly wasn't that ready for it mentally, but I probably would have done two 3/4s if there was another subject that interested me and that my school would have let me accelerate in (unfortunately there wasn't, and I didn't want to do two just for the sake of doing two).

I really wish my school had given me the option of doing two 3/4s this year. A few of my teachers last year said I would be able to manage it, enquired about it with director of learning and his response was "we don't offer that here. You should be glad we are letting you do one"

But then of course, I should have pushed for it more because there are some students in my year level of same ability as me who are doing two. Which kind of makes me annoyed, but it also makes me want to do really well next year so I can show the director that I would have been able to handle it. Like my brother, I think not doing two 3/4s in year 11 will be my biggest regret of VCE. But hey, in a little over a year, none of that will matter anymore anyway.

There are definitely pros and cons to doing two 3/4s. Had I been given the option, I probably would have done 3/4 HHD this year as well as 3/4 Food and Technology. Just talk to the teachers about the subjects, talk to your schools VCE coordinator and look at how much time you would be willing to commit to each subject (including your 1/2s) week and weigh up whether doing two 3/4s is worth it.
