Bucket Width

When drawing a histogram on a TI-89 Titanium, can someone please explain to me what "bucket width" means?

I looked in the TI-89 Graphics Calculator Supplement and it says:

Note: 'Bucket width' means 'interval width'.  Choose a minimum of five intervals and divide the range of values by the number to get the 'bucket width'.  For six intervals, the bucket width is ...

The thing I don't understand is that if you're choosing 5 intervals, why are you dividing by 6?

The last sentence says it is for six intevals, not five. The five belongs to the second sentence only. What a stupid bit of confusion to put in their Ti manual.

Oh, well that's a bit silly.  I would have thought they would have used 5 intervals since they were talking about 5 intervals before.
