A couple of questions, suggestions and worries

I'm slowly going through the Kilbaha exams right now, and Jesus-Christ-Lord-Have-Mercy, I'm finding the exams ridiculously difficult.  So my questions are:
1) Are they meant to be that bloody hard? Or am I just not prepared? It feels as though that they'll break you even if you're lubed up.
2) If I'm not prepared, what are ways would you guys suggest to improve and what type of 'thinking' do you have to adopt?
3) Would the VCAA exams be a bit more easier, if not, merciful?

I think the biggest problem with me is that I'm failing to quickly comprehend the questions, because I always think like: 'find the values and plug it in the equation, blurg blurg'. These exams are not obviously letting me do that. I feel rather worried that I might bone up during the end of year exams.

It's okay! Kilbaha exams have always been the hardest in my opinion. If you're looking for something a bit more realistic, try a Heffernan exam ar MAV (but before 2010).

Is it wise to do some of those then to get yourself thinking?

only after youve done quite a few more realistic ones, and you start to get bored of repetitive questions

I felt the same about Kilbaha exams (I usually got ~75%). Don't worry. Given my result, I don't think you should be doubting yourself just yet.

Personally, I haven't ripped into any TSSM, Neap or Heffernan Group Practice Exam's yet. I've started from the VCAA exams, going from 2006 onwards. They've been reasonable, and have noticed some patterns that transition through every exam. Wondering if the other companies have something like this as well?

In terms of MAV, heard they're quite good. Anyone willing to shoot me one or two of those practice exams? (Lousy school system here - teacher got sick, out for a term, replacement teacher a douche - not willing to buy any exam papers, co-ordinator not willing to buy any either).
