Just to keep people motivated, I would like to inform you that no one's answer to (1) is correct. I know that for sure as I know how to deliver more apples. I'm 99% sure Mao's answer to b is correct, I suspected it is 4000 myself based on heurestical reasoning so I strongly encourage proofs for this part as well :)

I've gotten 668 for 1, unless I'm misunderstanding the rules. This figure could increase marginally if I started working with theoretical recurring numbers, but I'm just sticking with integers for both the kilometers and apples for now.

EDIT: Scrap that, I think I just beat it =\ Gimme a sec.

EDIT 2: OK whoops errors. I've gotten 666 as my best. Yesno?
