Well, semantic means meaning (loosely), and network just means an interconnection of things. Thinks of social networking-- friends connected.
Semantic network= meaning connections (a hierarchical organised structure or something, right?)

So you have 'red' associates with 'blood' and 'pain associated with blood, sch that if you drew it in a diagram  it might look similar to

Red
 |
 |
Blood ---- pain
                 |
              Broken bone

Etc.

Very short explanation (on mobile sorry)--- does that fix up any confusion? If not, could you highlight your specific troubles?

Thank you for your explanation! It actually helped me! ^^
How would I explain it when I'm asked "Explain the semantic network theory"?
I want to answer it in the shortest way possible and obtain full marks ^^

Honestly, find the key words from your textbook wherever it's defined - I think they should be something like "a hierarchical order of nodes something something" , and then you could draw a network and that should give you full marks assuming a 2 mark question.
