REPRESSION?

hi!!!!!!!!! Who's ready for the psychology exam?!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M SCARED D:

Anyways can you guys please help me with these questions:
1. According to the theory of repression, why do people clam to have no recollection of traumatic events that occurred to them in their childhood? (2 marks)
--> My response was:
Repressions is a form of motivated forgetting where we consciously block memories that are painful, threatening or embarrassing from entering our conscious awareness. Thus, this shows how people are unable to recall the traumatic memory that had occurred during childhood.

How many marks would I get for my answer? What would I need to do to improve my answer to obtain full marks? :D

THANK YOU :D

Yeah, no reason you wouldn't get 2/2 for that

The main points are that repression is unconscious and that it involves blocking information from entering conscious awareness
