Don't know how to do bioengineering major.

I have had a change of heart, I was thinking about doing a physiology major, but now want to do bioengineering major. However it seems that it is impossible for me at this point, 1 year in. Note I absolute must have PHYS20008 Human Physiology, ANAT20006 Principles of Human Structure, BCMB20002 Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. My current/done subjects in the timetable below, can anyone think of how I could achieve a bioengineering major?

Any ideas is much appreciated.

Semester 1:
BIOL10004 Biology of Cells and Organisms
CHEM10003 Chemistry 1
PHYC10005 Physics 1: Fundamentals
MAST10005 Calculus 1

Semester 2:
BIOL10005 Genetics & The Evolution of Life
CHEM10004 Chemistry 2
DASC20010 Applied Animal Physiology
ECON10004 Introductory Microeconomics

I am not Breadth-savvy but I assume your ECON subject is your only Breadth so far?

I'm undertaking a Bioengineering Major, at the end of first year also; it's very difficult to switch to an Eng major even after first year especially if you want to do the MD prerequisites as you do (I am too but it took a lot of study plan shuffling).  You are surprisingly close thanks to your Level 1 Chemistry; but you are one subject over quota (see study plan below), which means you either need to ditch an MD prerequisite or take the final MD prerequisite via CAP in 3rd year (start saving, or ask your parents nicely for $3000, OR save the CAP subject till 3rd year and maybe you'll know by then that you don't want to do medicine so wont have to bother).

You also need to do a Summer Semester.  You could either do it this summer, and take Engineering Systems Design 2, or you could take Engineering Mathematics next summer.  There could be a way to do it without doing Summer but you could figure it out.

I've just put 'BREADTH" and 'MD Prerequiste" because those are all available both semesters so can be taken at any time in any order.

Semester 1, Second Year
MD Prerequisite
MAST10006 Calculus 2
MAST10007 Linear Algebra
BREADTH (Level 2/3)

Semester 2, Second Year
BREADTH (Level 2/3)
MD Prerequisite
ENGR10003 Engineering Systems Design 2
COMP20005 Engineering Computation

SUMMER (end of Second Year)
MAST20029 Engineering Mathematics

Semester 1, Third Year
FINAL BREADTH
MD Prerequisite (via CAP)
BMEN3---- Fundamentals of Biosignals (MAJOR)
BMEN3---- Biomechanics & Biotransport (MAJOR)

Semester 2, Third Year
BMEN3---- Biosystems Design (MAJOR)
BMEN3---- Biocellular Systems Engineering (MAJOR)
Any Level 3 Science Subject
Any Level 3 Science Subject

I assume that if you decide not to do Medicine that you plan on undertaking the Masters of Biomedical Engineering (if you were to switch majors)?  Little point in a bioeng major if you don't do the Masters, even then it's very very difficult to get jobs in Australia.  Which is a shame because Bioengineering is awesome.

Don't ban this guy just yet.
I'm interested in what your problem with my reply was, which I don't think could have been more helpful.
I'm sorry that I couldn't get you a perfect study plan but if you really wanted to do it it would have been good advice.
Your first post was too obscure to be a troll from the start, maybe you just have anger management issues.
And as for my second post, in the real world, we say thankyou when someone takes 15 minutes out of their day to help a stranger

He's been banned, no doubt he'll be back on a different IP to have something more to say.

Seriously hope he doesn't choose a Bioeng major, we're in the same year, would have to meet him at some point! Haha.

I thought I saw you on Whirlpool saying you were going to change from BioEng due to lack of jobs in Australia?
