Graded Assessments & Rankings

Hello.
If you're ranked 1st and perform poorly on exams, is there any way that you can lose your rankings or have your GA1/GA2 scaled down?

For example, you score 94/100 and rank 1st in Legal, then you flunk the exam and get 60%, whilst rank 2 gets 90% in the exam, would you get 90% as your SACs and 60% for the exam? What I mean is, is VCAA able to manually adjust your score or treat you as an outlier if you happen to perform poorly on the exam? Is it possible to have GA1: A+, GA2: A+, GA3: C+?

I found this on their site: "Statistical moderation does not change the rank order of students, as determined by the school’s coursework scores."

I think if you're rank 1 your SACs are safe. But it would hurt the rest of the cohort (unless they do treat it as an outlier).

You can't lose your rankings. You will get the highest external score (after all the statistical hoopah-doopah VCAA does) for your SAC.

That's not entirely accurate, BasicAcid. It's a regression between set points, not simply 'swapping' scores.
