What are the reading shown by an electromyograph during the stages of sleep and NWC?
I know the EEG records but now really familiar with the EMG
All I know is that it detects amplifies and records electrical activity of the muscles I the body and that electrodes are placed under the chin
Thanks

During REM the EMG will show no activity. This is because in REM our body is in cataplexy (our muscles are paralyzed).

During normal NREM the EMG will show some activity due to us changing position during our sleep.

Are there specific waves or recordings that indicate this though for example the EEG would show beta like brain waves in REM

Nah no specific waves, you'd just say the EMG shows activity

We don't need to know anything about ESB.
