Methods 1 EXAM PRECISION

I'm at that stage where in every methods Exam 1, regardless of difficulty, I achieve 35-36/40
I know this may sound really stupid, but what are some key things to really maximise my score in order to get around the 37,38 mark in these coming days before the exam. I know the course, its just one or two silly mistakes and trippy questions which stuff me up! I usually finish an exam 1 in about 30-35 minutes depending on difficulty.

I'm in a very similar position dude,
what my tutor has got me doing is creating a formalities sheet (A list that contains all the little errors I tend to make),
Basically, before I begin each exam I read this sheet....
I'v actually improved quite a bit from it... But just gotta hope that on the day mistakes just don't happen haha...
I usually finish exam 1's with 20 minutes + to spare, so obviously in that time I'll be looking out for those little things.
Also, if you have a lot of spare time, you should technically read the questions 3 times.
1st time in reading time
2nd time during exam
3rd time to check that your answer matches the question.

Hope this helps....
P.S: Come on you gunners, Gonna beat them liverpoolians :)

First thing that stands out, take your time! I think if you pace yourself well over that hour, the small mistakes will drop as you'll spend a more reasonable min/mark which means you're not ripping through the paper in an instant.

CHECK CHECK CHECK CHECK CHECK CHECK CHECK CHECK CHECK CHECK YOUR WORK!
You say you finish in approx 30-35minutes..use that extra time to check your work repeatedly! And also go over your work, with a fresh pair of eyes - it's easy to just skim over things once you've already completed the questions.
Good luck mate! :)

This was the kind of thing that I had to re-assess after every SAC and me and my teacher continually came to the conclusion that:

- Know as many of your typical mistakes as you can
- Complete the test at a slow pace, keeping these mistakes in mind whenever possible

Given I've tried to put this to rest pretty early, I can't see direct evidence of its effect, but I average 38 I'd say, and the occasionally 40/40 does happen, so it can't be too ineffective.

Do the exam 3 times in an hour

Did that (it could have been more; I lost concentration though as I had so much spare time left :P). It evidently worked xD

In seriousness, check whether you've actually answered every question, check whether you've substituted the right things in, check if you've integrated between the right domains and that you're finding the right area (oh that's a large problem in exam 1), check for arithmetic errors...

Hi, what i did last year for my methods exam 1 was doing the exam once on the exam paper (with careful notation and not rushing it at all), it took me 15-20mins. Second time, i did all the questions a again, but did all my working on the formula sheet, to see if i get the same answers (maybe it took 15 minutes). Then for the remaining time, I looked closely at the questions that i tend to make mistakes in, and super check them.
