Hey guys,
In regards to rounding. Say context is people, or birds or something that's discrete
And I get an answer with 12.55567
Should I round up or down?
Thanks!

Up :)

between 1-4 you round down and 5-9 up.

hope that helps, I had a similar question the other day and asked my teacher :P

Hey thanks!
So the context doesn't matter?

Sometimes it does.

For example, if the Question asks you for "the minimum number to be purchased of a particular item" and the figure is 12.4, you should really round up to 13 and not 12.

But I'm pretty sure VCAA are very clear in their questions and will always tell you what to round off to. :)

Aha thanks Damoz!
But just quickly. Say you get 446.456, you obviously need 447 to at least make a profit, if question asks to break even, would it be 447 also ? Because I mean, 446 will incur in a loss and you can't have 446.456 laptops ... !
