My know someone that is doing that course. Even though she has just finished her first year she told me that she likes it. Its not too hard if you have a specialist/tertiary math background. The only subjects that she struggled in were the 2 biology subjects she did (1 biology sibject each semester). So yeah, as long as you have a strong biology and math background you should be fine. If not then you just have to work twice as hard!

I would say pretty good actually. Just like Kanon said, they (the higher up i guess) REALLY take into account your SEAS. My friend got around a 66 ATAR or something and got a 23 in english, the prerequisite for his course was at least a 25 in english (like most courses) and the clearly in was 80.45....and he got in! Well he did apply for SNAP (actually your teachers nominate you, just ask if you want to know if they nominated you or not) so that may have had something to do with it.
So don't worry, not all hope is lost if you miss that clearly in ATAR!  ;D
