Opinions about different universities?

UNSW: famous in science and engineering. Also is well known for having an actuarial studies faculty
Usyd: famous in law, maths and medicine
UTS: as the name suggests famous in technology, IT
MAcquarie: I heard that this was the first uni to introduce actuarial studies
UWS: underrated to be honest. Not as popular as other uni's. It doesn't mean that it's bad, you can still go there and managers will still employ you (if you apply for a job obviously however you'll need to pass an interview)

I would say that the above are general conceptions of Universities, particularly held by High School leavers. None of them are particularly true; figure out what interests you, find somewhere that will continue to spark that interest, and see what happens from there. My recommendation is a always to write a list of priorities, in order (ie. Student life might be number 1, facilities number 3 etc. etc.) and figuring out what uni/degree fits that list the best. Still, we have students for a whole bunch of unis on the forums, so if you have specific questions ask away!
