Ranked 1/24 in my school and can answer less than half of 2012 exam, HELP!

Does anyone have any tips for exam preparation? I was unable to go to any revision lectures, and having a teacher who can't teach all year, I'm really struggling. I'm ready to give up on this subject, but feel its a waste of being ranked 1 and not trying.

Some examples: I cannot define a VPN, find it difficult to understand or fix the pseudocode questions, don't understand concepts such as binary search, bubble sort or data structures. Multiple choice I can get 15/20 through common sense, but section C almost half of the questions I leave blank.

So basically, is there any resources I can use to learn IT software development in a week? Or am I Betrer to give up and hope for 70% at best?

Have you checked out VCEIT.com yet? It's a wonderful resource. The site has study notes for each section of the study design.

Yeah I've looked at it, but haven't read all of it. Thanks I'll look into it further! A major problem I face is that I'm unsure what a question is asking or give an answer that doesn't answer the question properly. An example: Using "Help Guide" as an answer to a question asking for a type of documentation. My teacher says it is too vague of an answer.

Usually such a question requires you to justify your answer. So we have to consider the context in which the documentation is used. Yes, a help guide is ideal documentation for say a public library system where users can search for books. But what about if the documentation is intended for advanced users? Perhaps then a technical guide or user manual is more relevant.

Oh I used it incorrectly then, thanks. I said a help guide would be useful to a database manager, but a technical reference is more suitable
