Doubt it. This has been said every year in some form or another ("next year english won't count towards top4") since I started paying attention in 2007. Hasn't happened yet. I'll believe it when I see an announcement on the VCAA website.

If it was to happen for the Year 12s next year, VCAA would have already told everyone by now.

Almost always the rumours seem to start from teachers... Don't they have something better to do?

No. If it was to they would give students a few years notice because it wouldn't be fair to the year 11s who would have wasted their year doing English 1/2 when they could've done something else which would -potentially- damage many students study scores by having to start a new 3/4 without 1/2 in year 11.

NO. This could never happen, I spent WAY too much time on vce english to not have it as a mandatory top 4 study score contribution  :P

They have a lot more time on their hands between their current 3/4 students finishing exams and their next Year 12 class the proceeding year :P

This rumour goes around everrrry single damn year. It's been going since i started on these forums in year 11 (~2009).

English is far to important to move it out of the top 4 or to make it optional.
