Felt the exam was quite easyaccessible, still made a few basic mistakes.

Thinking there will be a high A+ cut off.
How did everyone else go?

Mod Edit: Please use this thread as your avenue for discussion of the first specialist mathematics examination. Also, please take note of the following:

A reminder to all students this thread is for examination discussion NOT for study score predictions. If you wish to have a score predicted please reply in this thread or make a topic here.

apart from that it was.. okay

I thought it was pretty straight forward and if you knew your stuff, you'd be fine. However, again stupid mistakes got the better of me.

Oh well, only one more maths exam to go. :D

Also, does anyone else feel that Exam 2 is gonna be hard? :/

I found the restricted domain /range of the hyperbole,...
And then drew it all anyway. Ugh

Yup. They could have made this one sooo much harder (friction on slope, sin(x) over a smaller domain so it's semi hollow, mixing q instead of temperature)

BTW could we just say that T=Ae^(-kt) + C??? I derived the whole thing from scratch... wayy too much for 2 mark o.O

OMG SO MANY DAMN CARELESS MISTAKES.
I NEED SOLUTIONS NOW.

I didn't have time to fix a mistake. I solved for A and B wrong in the partial fractions question and only found out with a minute to go.
NOOOOOOOO

Damn made one mistake for that complex solving question :/. How much marks would I lose if I got the factorization and solving, and used polar form to find the Cartesian form but got the wrong final answers?

Wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. Actually finished the paper (unlike my practices). Probably stupid mistakes everywhere but whatevvvvzzz.

And.....I forgot how to work out the domain of the hyperbola thing and went for left branch. Too bad it was upper right. LOL

Made a mistake by factorizing the partial fractions then solved it, how many marks would I lose?

I stuffed up the same question I think, worth 4 marks so hopefully get 1-2 marks for working.

Overall it wasn't too bad, stuffed up the arccos question but fixed it up in the end, only the complex numbers was really a problem for me. Also missed the restricted domain of the hyperbola :/ Hopefully can still get 35-36
