So the Chemistry exam is tomorrow, and I wish you luck. You guys have worked very hard throughout the year, and I thought I'd give a few tips:
1) The exam is 2.5 hours for 120 marks. Pace yourselves. I reckon Short Answer would be good to start with because you can get it out of the way and if you run out of time you can just shade in C C C.
2) Don't forget sig figs, units, or states. These are marks you will not want to use.
3) Only apply Le Chatelier's principle when it's appropriate.
4) Set out your working clearly so the examiner can understand. Specify all species - if you're working out the amount of sulfate, then write n(SO4 2-) =. I would also recommend, if you're working out ratios as "rough working" then do it on the side because then the examiner can focus on your neatly presented solution.
5) Don't panic. If there is a question that you find hard, say "I will spend 2 minutes on this question and if I don't get anywhere, I'll move on." Go back to it later.
6) When you answer the questions, use the chemistry language. Also, explain your answer in clear steps, using clear logic. Words like "initially" and "subsequently" are quite useful when you are answering questions regarding equilibrium position changes.
Also, if someone can quickly get a copy of the exam and upload on AN, I'll write up solutions - but I won't be hone until like 1 pm - I have an exam tomorrow morning too. God help me haha.
