Finally found a forum for media, i'm not sure if i should do media units 1 and 2.  Right now i now i won't necessarily like it but il try my best to, one thing i will do is work hard at it.  I won't work to hard to during units 1 and 2 as i have other subjects that are more important(3-4 subjects) so should i do it i don't know?  I'm not a creative person and I'm not sure if i can produce films and stuff that is really me, so i know it scales down a fair bit but is it hard to get in the high 30's maybe even low 40's.  Is this subject for me?

If you don't think that you'll like it, I wouldn't do it. I absolutely loved media, but there are a few problems with trying a subject you don't love. Personally, I focussed on my 3/4 subject, however I didn't love it as much as I did originally, so it meant I didn't reach my full potential and as a result, my study score was only a 32. That said, having a teacher who was fluent with the course would have helped. If you're prepared to work at it, then do it, however if you aren't a creative person, you might struggle a little. I know when I created the short films for class, I was always the one in my groups who came up with the ideas and the one who had to organise everything, and as a result, my group members lost marks for not contributing. It does scale down quite a lot, but your SAT halfway through the year is an extremely important subject, so I would suggest questioning yourself on whether or not you can balance creating a film/series of photographs/visual mixed media composition and balancing the rest of your subjects in 3/4 media. Though, by the sounds of it, that's a while away for you, so definitely focus on your 3/4 subjects, and keep media in mind if you really want to do it, but definitely don't if you aren't going to work hard.

I wasn't an overly creative person, but that didn't deter me. I got full marks on my folio because my skill was writing in detail, and my theoretical work covered that base. However, scaling is awful in this subject. Even with straight A+ all year I couldn't even manage a 40. Media (as a whole) is an underrated subject, and looking at how films are created and put together is fascinating once you get started.
Good luck for next year!

Yes, but you would have worked fairly hard!

Basically, if you want to do it, work hard, because scaling affects it greatly.  :)

it scales the same as a health or a business.  For units 1 and 2 I'm not going to take it to seriously as I'm doing 3-4 subjects.  Is it a kick back type subject?  I mean i seriously don't want to shoot films and stuff, is there a lot of memorising?  i actually bought the book and its short, units 1-4 all in one book?  When you make films and stuff are you usually in groups?  And are any of the sac written sacs or are they all films?
