Since HHD have a questions thread I do not see why Physical Education does not. This is really just a good way to keep all of our questions organised!

I will start posting as soon as possible ! :)

Good Luck for 2014! :D

If a 10 year old boy averages 75 minutes of MVPA per day and watches 180 minutes of television, does he meet National Physical Activity guidelines?

If this is the all the info that is given you would say no because he watches more than the recommended 2 hours of tv/media use/gaming etc.

Just be careful how these are worded because sometimes they say 3 hours of tv/computer - 2 hours for leisure and 1 hour for school work - which is fine under the guidelines.

:o Oh i see. I just looked through my A+ notes book and saw that it said (unless educational). Are there a lot of questions like that?

Other than A+ notes I never saw these types of questions
just a few hints to remember to think about the wording.

When explaining an aim of the NPAG guidelines, how is this a 3 mark answer?

"To provide the population with a goal, and to encourage people to participate in sufficient PA to obtain health benefits"

This was my answer, is it still correct?

"To achieve health benefits for the population by assessing whether or not the NPAG guidelines have been adhered to"

I don't know why that answer was worth 3 marks. :/ where was it from? :)

your answer looks good :) the "assessing whether or not the NPAG guidelines have been adhered to" could be changed to

The Australian government uses the National Physical Activity Guidelines to promote active and healthy lifestyles in Australia to tackle the growing
problem of declining physical activity and increasing sedentary behaviour particularly due to screen-based entertainment. :)

Hope  I helped :)

Does P.E and health relate in any way?  Because i was going to do P.E as i love me sports, but its not even Phsyical education?  I was expecting to run beep tests for sacs etc and then i have a look at the past exams and its all science?  And then to top it all of it scales down by 3?  Can someone tell me how this exactly physical education?

Well, it is Physical Education but takes more a sport-science approach. You do beep tests etc. as part of the fitness pre/post testing for the six week training program in Unit 4 - but yes, you are correct in saying it is majority science.

I personally would not do it if you hate science - I understand you love your sports as you have said but there is little room for practical - only the training program and a few pracs to support case studies/investigations etc.

There are some over lap but not as much as you think I have answered this question fully here

HHD and PE

Because i was going to do P.E as i love me sports, but its not even Phsyical education?

The subject is mainly theory but you do get to do pracs and a 6 week training program :)

I was expecting to run beep tests for sacs etc and then i have a look at the past exams and its all science?

we run the beep test, but our marks were not included in the sac, Pe is really an applied science

And then to top it all of it scales down by 3?

It doesn't always scale by three just depends which score you receive:)

Can someone tell me how this exactly physical education?

What else what you like to know ? :)

Well physical education should be physical education… Atleast some of us who have ability in sports can actually get a good study score, they talk about why we Australians are becoming obese we even learn about in health BUT, there isn't a subject that involves physical activity, there is but for some reason they name it PHYSICAL when it isn't but they actually  should just name the subject science education to stop the confusion.  First of all we do sport for all our schooling and then the v.c.e subject so called p.e is about doing set work etc rather than actually doing the physical activity.  My 3 cents is that this is what VCAA should do.  First of all they should have a good look at the curriculum of p.e, i say the first sac should consist of doing things such as throwing a ball and being able to catch a ball!  Remember this is what we did in early years of high school?  Remember how the kid that aces everything in class but can't catch a ball and everyone never chooses that kid in their team?  Well why the hell do we learn to catch a ball in PE WHEN ITS NOT EVEN IN THE VCE COURSE PE?  The exam should be a beep test highest score gets 50 a study score.

Also if i did distant ed does this mean i get rank 1 in my cohort?
