How hard is it to run 10km or paint? It's not really a question we can answer properly.

Much like running, it depends how prepared you are, how much work you're willing to put in it (consistently) and yes, to a small degree, natural ability.

~80 isn't hard if you actually put in some serious work consistently and choose the subjects that are right for you (it makes it so much easier).

I dont consider myself to have studied my ass off or worked very hard at all and i still got over 80. I worked consistently, a bit every day but i was not studying 24/7 by a long shot. Choosing the right subjects (the ones i actually was interested in/wanted to do) helped to a great deal.

Hard to quantify difficulty, especially since there's so many factors that will affect your score. Don't settle for anything and don't ingrain that mentality "oh if i just get a 35 in these subjs and one 40, i can get 85". Aim high and just do your best

Exactly! After you've picked your English and any prerequisites for the courses you're looking at, then make your remaining subjects your favourite ones that you enjoy and are good at regardless of scaling. Your results will come out so much better, and provided that you picked subjects you do well in, you should get an ATAR you're really happy with.

The only reason I would ever pick a subject like methods or spec (which make me miserable) would be if I really needed those 99's, because the scaling of those subjects make a big difference at that level for the aggregate.

Guys I only doubled with Arts because I couldn't let go of Psych and wanted to keep doing it as a major at least, but I took International Studies on a whim after the info session just because I needed a minor, and I love it so much! It's 3:29am and I had to share this, I think I'm majoring in it bye.
