Basically it's asking you to describe the way in which production and story elements work together to structure and communicate 'ideas' (eg that the protagonist is the protagonist, that someone is evil or whatever). The two constantly overlap - for example, camera (production element) is often used to create the point of view from which the narrative is presented (story element).
