Hi everyone!
It would be awesome if someone could explain what phosphorylation is, and what we need to know about it for VCE. Thanks so much! :D

Depends on the plant

Just the addition of phosphates to molecules. That's all you need to know

What is the difference between amino acid derivatives, steroid hormones and peptide hormones?
Thanks  :D
Amino Acid Derivatives:
Small molecules, similar to amino acids
Water soluble (travel in blood)
Unable to pass through membranes
Bind to receptors on the membrane

Peptide/protein Hormones:
Water soluble (travel in blood)
Unable to pass through membranes
Bind to receptors on the membrane

Steroid Hormones:
Similar to cholesterol
Need a carrier protein to move in the blood
Able to pass through the membrane
Bind to receptors inside the cytosol or nucleus (within the cell)

Hope this helps! :D

Can anyone explain signal transduction and stimulus response in bacterial cells?
I just need a basic understanding of the two concepts for my upcoming SAC.

is it true that homeostasis and positive/negative feedback is not in the course so you don't have to know it?

homeostsis is still on the course but in in as much detail and neg/pos feedback im pretty sure wont be assessable on the exam but might be on your sacs :) google 'biology FAQs vcaa' and you'll see what's been changed in the 2013 study design :-)
