Whats a Grade Point Average (GPA) and Weighted average Mark (WAM)? And how is it used?

I was looking through the Wikipedia site and I was wondering, "What's the difference between 'Fail' and 'Failure'?"

Lol... I wouldn't want to get either result... from the looks of it, some institutions seem to divide up a fail grade into different categories, depending on how badly you failed. Apparently 'Failure' (0-24%) is worse than your garden variety 'Fail' (25-49%)... weird way to name it tho methinks.

Monash doesn't have this 'Failure' thing going on but... I don't know if it's all that popular tbh.

I see but I still don't get the logic.  What's the point of segregating them into two groups?  Either way, you fail and even if it does appear on the "report" (so to speak), it's not something you would want to brag to any prospective employers, is it?  lol
