Finish the core :)

Second that. Also start making your bound reference from the get go, will prove useful down the track :)

that depends on how diligently you work, but the course is not that long at all

I didn't do further but I heard the course is quite short. Some schools can finish teaching it in June/July.

If you're using Maths Quest, doing 3 or 4 exercises (starting now) will probably get you through core. (it's 4 chapters)

I'm expecting to finish core a week before school starts which is cool.

(But apparently my school doesn't even begin with core....)

Second that. Also start making your bound reference from the get go, will prove useful down the track :)

Isn't it better to make your bound reference later in the year so while you make it, it refreshes your memory on the topics?
I thought that's the most beneficially way in creating a reference book.

Everyone has their own preferred ways about going about it but I prefer working on it from the get go, mainly because the earlier you start it, the more familiar you will be with it hence you get to the point where you wont even need to look at the bound reference in the exam. Also you can use it in SACS so it may prove beneficial if you put a bunch of questions into it in prep for the 6 period long core SAC for example. :)

Are you sure about that??? That's pretty weird. Well if matrices is your first SAC then I would definitely start it now and leave the core for later. BUT make sure your school is definitely doing matrices first or stopping the core now will be a bad mistake because the more complicated components of the core is near the end (the first half is more like revision from year 10 maths).

yeah im sure, i thought it was wierd too i was doing the core and the holiday hw sheet fell out and it said first sac is matrices in the middle of term 1

ok so ill do matrices now, if/when i finish it early: should i keep trying to master it with checkpoints and exam questions, or move on to the core?
cheers

Matrices is probably the easiest module to grasp imo, but yes don't move onto the core unless you have mastered matrices (or else you will lose marks on the SAC :P). Though I wouldn't start exam questions yet (its best to do them as revision for when you finish the entire course). Just do checkpoints for now.

Easiest module to grasp, but it is becoming more difficult every year. See q9 of the 2013 VCAA exam 1. Terrible!
