Hi guys :)
I thought it might be cool to see what everyone is studying this year (thanks to nisha's post in the UoM General Chat) and having all the subjects in one place makes it easier for everyone to see what other people are doing/if they share classes!

so guys! What subjects are we doing this year/summer school?
I'm doing:
Finance in the summer
 Sem 2:
1. Reactions and Synthesis (chem subject)
2. Biochemistry
3. Introduction to Life and the universe
4. Consumer behaviour (marketing)

I'm doing:
Summer Semester
- Intermediate Microeconomics

Semester 1
- Romanticism, Feminism and Revolution (English)
- Adaptations and Trangressions (English)
- Modernism and Avant-Garde (English)
- Rebels and Revolutionaries (History)
- Understanding Society (Sociology - Level 1)

Semester 2
- Personality and Social Psychology
- Public Policy Making (Politics)
- Human Rights and Global Justice (Uni Breadth/Politics)
- Globalisation and the World Economy
- Behavioural Economics (Level 3)

Hopefully I'm allowed to overload!

I'm thinking of the following:

Sem 1:
IFA2
Intro Micro
Finance 1
BLaw

Sem 2:
Intro Macro
OB
(another breadth - any suggestions??)
QM1

How does the above sound in terms of workload? Any feedback would be appreciated :)

I was originally going to be doing Reactions & Synthesis and Structure and Properties this year, but decided to complete a Chem major in a Grad Dip once I finish my main degree so I don't have space constraints, so what I actually have now is:

Summer Semester:
BOTA20004 Flora of Victoria

Semester One:
CEDB20003 Fundamentals of Cell Biology
BCMB20002 Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
GERM20004 German 3
ZOOL20004 Australian Wildlife Biology
ZOOL20005 Animal Structure and Function

Semester Two:
BOTA20002 Plant Biodiversity
ZOOL20006 Comparative Animal Physiology
GERM20005 German 4
ECOL20003 Ecology
VCE: Chemistry | Biology (2011) | English (2011) | Environmental Science | Mathematical Methods CAS

2013-2015: BSc [Zoology] @ UoM | DLang [German - DISCONTINUED]
2016: GDSc [Botany] @ UoM
2017-2018: MSc [Biosciences - Zoology] @ UoM

Summer: BOTA30006

S1: BOTA20001 | EVSC20004 | BOTA30003 | BIOL90001

S2: GEOG20009 | BOTA30002 | BOTA30005 | EVSC20003 | NRMT90002

Subject and major reviews incoming :)

@nisha, that's a fascinating blend of subjects!
@charmanderp, so disappointed not to see you in cog/bio psych, but wise choice going for that class regardless, it has good reviews.

I have no idea at this point. If I get into Painting Techniques:

Summer: Painting Techniques

First Semester: Human Physiology
Biological Psychology
Research-Based Physiology

Winter: Breadth

Second Semester:
Human Structure and Function
Cognitive Psychology
Comparative Animal Physiology

If I don't:

Summer: Flora of Victoria

First Semester: Human Physiology
Biological Psychology
Breadth

Winter: Painting Techniques

Second Semester:
Principles of Human Structure
Research-Based Physiology
Cognitive Psychology

Is it best to enrol in Research-Based Physio in first or second semester? I wanted to do it in second after having completed the recommended knowledge of Human Physiology, but am concerned that I have less of a chance of being accepted in the second semester due to the quota. It seems better to apply for the first semester as if you don't make the cut in the first, you have a second shot with the second semester.

This year is so full of medical sciences I am loving the sound of it so far but I will probably be killing myself halfway through semester

Semester 1:
Molecular and Cellular Biomedicine (Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Pathology, Genetics)
Principles of Genetics
Genetics, Health & Society (breadth)

Semester 2:
Human Structure & Function (Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology)
Microbes, Infections and Responses
Pharmacology: How Drugs Work

So much rote-learning for Semester 2 aiya

If you thought chem 2 was hard, you ain't seen nothing yet with reactions and synthesis.
As for subjects:

Sem 1- Muscle & Exercise Phys, Neurophys, principles of neuroscience
Breadth: Genetics, health & society

Sem 2- Frontiers in physiology, Visual neuroscience, reproductive phys
Breadth originally body, mind & medicine but hearing from some reviews it's going to be swapped.

First Semester: Human Physiology
Biological Psychology
Breadth

Second Semester:
Principles of Human Structure
Research-Based Physiology
Cognitive Psychology

Is it best to enrol in Research-Based Physio in first or second semester? I wanted to do it in second after having completed the recommended knowledge of Human Physiology, but am concerned that I have less of a chance of being accepted in the second semester due to the quota. I don't think you should be too concerned about it being a quota subject. I did RBP in sem 2 along with human phys but I felt that a lot of the other students had knowledge of all the basics with human phys and since they kept their notes, RBP was a breeze. Your timetable looks good as is in terms of human phys and RBP :)

After purchasing the Sem 2 books anyway, the lady at the counter gave me a wistful stare and said "it's so depressing, all that money's just gone..." and patted me on the back

Two words: textbook exchange

A+ story, poor Levi. :( I have all my textbooks because I torrented most of them.

+1

Not keen on physiology because I actually have to understand something applied D:

Human phys and RBP were the best subjects i've ever done :D  :'(

Looks like in Sem 1, we will be in 2 subjects together-Muscle & Exercise Phys, and Principles of Neuro
And in Sem 2, I am doing Frontiers too!!

My subjects are:
Sem 1-Muscle and Exercise Phys, Human Locomoter Systems, Principles of Neuroscience, Breadth=Travelling Smarter
Sem 2-Viscera and Visceral systems, Cardiovascular Health, Frontiers in Phys, Breath=undecided

Major=human structure & function

PS. How is the GAMSAT study going El? Awkward turtle if you are not doing the GAMSAT
