I've been taking a few subjects where I don't have the 'recommended prerequisites'... It's easy enough to catch up on if you're motivated. You do have a slight disadvantage though.

Recommended pre-reqs are usually bull. I did 3 third year classes without the 'recommended pre-reqs' and did fine. Just make sure that you read anything that comes up on lectures that confused you, and ask some mates in the class if you've learnt it in a prior class.

BTW, Eng Comp shouldn't even have ESD2 as a recommended pre-req. It's got nothing in common with it at all. You should be peachy hobbitle!

You learn C++ in Eng Comp. So yeah you still write code (scripts) but it's not exactly the same language as Matlab.

Haha thanks Hancock, I'm not worried, programming is actually one of my stronger suits!

Even some of the actual prerequisites for some subjects are a bit BS. A lot are valid but some are overkill.

You learn C in Eng Comp actually, C++ is an OO language that comp sci students learn I think. Pre-reqs are there to encourage linear motion through a degree I think. While you can take 3rd year Electrical and Mechanical in 2nd year if you play your cards right, I think they (as in the administration) prefer if you take it in the order they prescribe.

Haha, I'm only doing Eng Comp for credit points... Already done Foundations of Algorithms which has massive overlap with Eng Comp, therefore I don't need ESD2 haha. ESD2 is just to fill credit points too. I wanted to do Discrete Structures, but that got discontinued this year along with several other comp sci subjects.

It's been a while since I got on here, here we go. The "or"s present alternative options in order of likeliness to quota subjects in case I couldn't get them. The others are pretty much confirmed until possible great changes of heart.

Semester 1

- PHYS20008: Human Physiology
- PATH30001: Mechanisms of Human Disease
- MUSI20149: Music Psychology
- ANAT30007: Human Locomotor Systems
or MIIM20001: Principles of Microbiology & Immunology
     or GENE20001: Principles of Genetics

Semester 2

- PHYS30008: Frontiers In Physiology
- PHYS30001: Cardiovascular Health: Genes & Hormones
- PATH30001: Frontiers In Human Disease
- ANAT30008: Viscera & Visceral Systems
or UNIB20013: Body, Mind, and Medicine: A Dissection

Hoping to see you all who are doing the same thing.

Sinner it looks like we are going to have loads of subjects together!
Especially in semester 2!!
VCE 2011: English, Chemistry, PE, Methods, Health & HD, Further

2012-2014: BSc (Melbourne Uni)

2016-2019: Medicine (Melbourne Uni)

I don't think we do C++ (for comp sci) either, our OO language is Java.
English (49) Software Development (44) Psychology (43) IT Applications (40) Methods (35) Physics (34) ATAR: 97.15 Course: Master of Engineering (Software) Also providing English tuition. Students in the North Eastern suburbs especially convenient as I live in Ivanhoe. Interested in giving tuition to students studying Computing.

I'm thinking

Sem 1:
Intro Micro
Organisational Behaviour
AM 1
French 3

Sem 2:
Intro Macro
Intro to Actuarial Studies
AM 2
French 4

Not too sure about Organisational Behaviour... would it be fine to dive into a team-work based level 2 subject in my first semester at uni?
If I don't do OB in Sem 1 I want to replace it with Business Finance, but that has AM 1 (which I'll be doing at the same time) as a pre-req.... how lenient will they be with this?
