I can vouch for that too... Loved maths in school since everything just came easily.. Found uni maths to not be my cup of tea. Thank god I'm done with all my uni maths subjects.

That said OP might like it and you'll never know till you try it. Give it a shot and if you don't like it you can always transfer.

Quote from Graham Forbes
"The institute of Actuaries is currently processed our renewed application for accreditation.

It is expected that they will give us:

·         Final (“Permanent”) Accreditation for Part I CT1 to CT8 (to be reviewed after 3,4, 5 years ahead), and
·         Provisional accreditation for Part II to be reviewed again after 2014.

We are in the process of recruiting more actuarial staff to add to our mini-dept of 2 actuaries, and that will assist us to get “Final” Accreditation for Part II.

Note that there are 3 majors in the actuarial program – see attached.

We are also planning to start a “Masters of Actuarial Science” in 2015 covering the Part II studies and other units.

Part II next year is expected to be covered by the 3 units ETC4110, 4120 and 4130"
And it's four years at Melb to get part 1 and 2 accreditation I think because you have to do honours.
And does anyone know anything about computational mathematics?

Thought people should know that Monash got actuarial part 2 accreditation - couldn't really find a better place to post it than my old thread!
