I'm going cross-institutional because I've got two free electives at UoM and I want to take more Mechanical Engineering subjects. Since I accelerated my course, I've run out of 3rd year things I want to do, and they wouldn't allow me to enrol in Masters subjects even though I had satisfied the pre-reqs and gotten fairly good grades for them.
Oh I see. That means you still have to finish the rest of the subjects before commencing Master degree?
What are the pre-requisite subjects for majoring in engineering?

In regards to mixing majors, I can only go into the Aerospace Engineering degree because Aero is a subset of Mechanical. This is to the extent that Monash Aero grads are considered professional mechanical engineers, and U.Adelaide calls their Aero degree 'Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering'. You can't specialize in two engineering majors, as there is way to much to focus on.

I get what you mean because I have heard before they are quite similar so U.Adelaide decided to combine them into one. Do mechanicals engineering deals with inventing car etc as I am quite interested in that?
Also, how hard is it to achieve a GPA of minimum 65(H3) as it says so on the website and is it guaranteed once you get above 65?

The pre-reqs for majoring in engineering can be found in the BSc Handbook for UniMelb. Just look up Mechanical Systems Bachelor of Science on google, and it'll come up with the recommended course plan. You can then delete and replace electives as you see fit to make the degree 'your' degree. I believe that getting a 65 doesn't require an extraneous amount of work, but it does require you to turn up and hand in the assignments. Some people may struggle with the material more so than and may find it difficult, but I don't think that the 65 minimum GPA should be worrying for anyone half-serious about studying engineering. Once you get 65 average, you're guaranteed a place in the Master of Engineering at UoM.

That sounds like an overly convoluted way of saying that statement...

Oh god, I sound like a Jaffy.
