Almost finished my degree..very confused.

So I'm trying to go from Arts to Arts/Law and have been unsuccessful thus far (I was sick all last semester and my grades slipped), and after semester 1 this year I will have only 2 units left before I've got enough credit points for the Arts part of Arts/Law (96) so what are my options if they don't do mid year intake? I kind of think it's a waste to only do two units a semester, and yeah I could just keep going to the 144 credit points because that's how many there are in a single Arts degree, but then does that mean that they won't count when I come to graduate from Arts/Law.

Ever considered the possibility of doing a JD instead of a LLB?

Second this. If you're so close to the end of your degree, it'll probably be quicker to do the Monash JD postgrad. I think the JD is also "easier" to get into as the required GPA is a little lower (something like 70-75 iirc- please don't count on that number though)

Offered via Zoom or in person across Melbourne.  Message me to discuss. Very limited places available.

Yeah I've looked at it as a plan B, but I am nearly at the required credit points that the double degree needs, and I know I'm going to end up doing more than that, I still want to try and get it into my undergrad years. Also, it's going to end up longer if I do the JD because it'll take 3 years it says, whereas if I can try and get in this year or the next I would probably finish in 3 and a half or 4 years (because I would have already finished the Arts part). I don't know what to do really..and they don't even always do mid year transfers...

JD it is then. No point doing another undergrad I reckon, especially if you can graduate now and have a piece of paper next to your name.

I guess I'm just concerned about how I am going to study and pay my way though. I don't think that I will be able to find a job in Criminology that would allow me to also study full-time.

I don't understand why you'd need to find a job in Criminology to "pay your way through" considering you were going to study an LLB for the same length of time anyway. The only difference is you need to apply for JD programs instead of to Monash Uni. Explain?

The JD can be put on a HECS type loan. Even if you don't get CSP, you can still put the full amount on a loan. Wouldn't you be studying full time for the same amount of time anyway as Hancock said? (maybe a little longer actually but I don't see how the time would be significant enough to have any significant financial burden associated with it?). Keep in mind you pretty much have to do the whole law degree aside from the few non-law electives you have so a LLB can take a fair while even if you do get credit for the arts units degree as electives. One you have the BA the LLB takes 3 years and the JD 3 years and starting the law degree say in your third year wouldn't really cut that much time off I don't think.

I had a 79 wam and got a csp JD, so that might be helpful to you in deciding. It goes towards HECS and I believe you can also still get Youth Allowance, so nothing changes really.
