Questions about majors and subjects

Hi,
I contacted the university of melbourne to get some answers to some questions which I couldn't find answers for but the person who replied didn't answer all of them.
I tried to find answers using the search function on this site and using google but couldn't get any answers. I will keep it short and simple:

1 - Can I take double major in BSc? Do I have to convince the department and how? Some majors like biochemistry and biotechnology have 3 subjects in common, phyiology and human structure and function have 1 or 2 in common, etc. so would it be possible to double major? I know some people who are taking double majors in BSc so how does it work?

2 - I want to take level 2 or 3 subjects in first yea and level 3 subjects in second year. I know students who were able to do that so how does it work? I read that I can do that by convincing the department of science so is that true?

Edit:

3 - Can I do two summer subjects or is the maximum 1? I was thinking about doing breadth in the summer if they are available to get them out of the way.

Thanks man, I will see if I can do 50 points of level one subjects (I will probably need to do at least 75 since I need to satisfy prerequisites) and 50 points of breadth and do levels 2 and 3 subjects for the rest. Level 1 subjects have very similar content to high school so level 2 and 3 will be much more interesting but probably much harder.
Hopefully I can do breadth in the summer and get them out of the way. I am mainly interested in commerce as breadth so hopefully they run those in summer.

you can do as many majors as you can squeeze into your degree. you'll only have one printed on your transcript however.
you can take two subjects over summer yes, any more than that is considered overloading and you have to contact the student centre if you wish to do so. make sure you do check what runs over summer though, some commerce subjects are available but not all.

Is it useful to do more than one major in terms of employment? Is it recognizable by employers or do they only look at the major on my transcript?
Where can I find out which subjects run during the summer? I am interested in economics and finance, I looked at introductory microeconomics and it doesn't run during the summer. I am planning on talking one or two level one commerce subjects and two or three level 2/3.
