what does pH tell the extent of hydolysis of hydrochloric acid..
is hydrochloric acid, a strong or weak acid?

It's strong, so it'd have a low pH...
PhD @ MIT (Economics).

HCl is strong acid, CH3COOH is a weak acid.

You know that and you'll be fine for unit 2 if not then also unit 3.

HCl is strong acid, CH3COOH is a weak acid.

You know that and you'll be fine for unit 2 if not then also unit 3.

In Unit 2 and 3, all you need to know is that , and are all strong acids.

All other acids are considered "weak" unless otherwise stated or given to you by the backwards arrow.

It's only in Unit 4 where you learn about where you can differentiate what is actually "strong" and "weak".
