BMS1031 questions?!?

Hi,
If anyone could help me out with these questions I would be forever grateful!  ;D

The first topic is pulleys;
1. If the object weighs 100 Newtons, what force (or tension) needs to be applied to the rope to lift the object?

2. Does the pulley need to be attached to something for this to work? Explain why in terms of forces and Newton's third law.

The second is about centrifugation.
3. A person takes a ride in a Rotatron at Lunar Park. At high speeds the person is “stuck” to the wall, being supported against gravity by a vertical frictional force by the wall, upward. If the person, of mass m, experiences an acceleration of “10 g” (98 ms–2 ). What is the direction of the net force, what is its magnitude, and what is its source?

I have no idea where to begin, help!
Thank you :)
