Planning Levels + Process confusion and entanglement

I have been doing a variety of practice SAC's and every single one thus far has said to define/explain planning along with one of the other management roles.

I am deeply confused, as all recommended answers list the levels of planning (strategic, tactical and operational) alas with the exception of the planing process (SADIM). And yet, I came across a similar question define/explain planning and this recommended answer used both injunction with each other.

When I encounter planning during a SAC and it just says something along the lines of "explain planning and its assistance in helping the business expand its corporate objectives" how do I approach this? Do I combine levels of planning + the process + case study information to receive full marks?

Thank you!

Hi jono when completing this sac, i would recommend that when asked an "explain" question that you provide detail of the use of planning, this would involve defining it, going through planning process in relation to case study and in general explaining why planning is relevant to use (may include levels of planning). if you are asked a "discuss' question i would still define planning and talk about why it is relevant to the case study but then give advantages and disadvantages of managers adopting and giving attention to this role. make sure to try and link to case study and you will receive full marks.

how could we exactly talk about planning in a discuss question? our school just said to use the SADIM process with all the questions.

Thanks

I think it is a 'grey area' so to speak, Skyline. During my SAC, I had a 'discuss' question but it just said to analyse it in relation to the case study. I explored every microscopic piece of information I could remember in relation to planning, and simplified this onto the paper. If I drop marks, I'll be frustrated.
