As said in my first answer, both Na+ and Fl- have the same electron configuration ( that of Neon ).  Same number of electrons, same number of shells :)

Cheers, thanks for clearing it up :)

0.7456/0.024594 = 30.3163 mL of methanol must be pipetted.

Apologies for not asking earlier. How does this work? Can someone explain why dividing number of moles after pipetting by number of moles before pipetting gives the volume that was pipetted?

Sorry guys...I have like a gazillion chem questions to ask.
1) How do I know if a particular molecule has the same valency in one of its salts?
2) If temperature and pressure are kept constant, would a greater volume of a gas result if there was more moles of that gas? I thought so, by analysing the general gas equation but I'm still not entirely sure.
