Hey guys. Can someone tell me what changes have taken place in regards to unit 3 outcome 2? I noticed some topics in DNA are omitted in class. Greatly appreciated

All that is required for you to know about DNA is the primary and secondary structure of the molecule, as stated by the study design. I'd learn that DNA is a polymer, made up of nucleotide monomers, linked by covalent bonds. DNA is a double-stranded molecule, made up of two anti-parallel strands linked by weak hydrogen bonds. You are required to know about the nitrogenous bases (i.e. Adenine and Guanine - the purines, and Thymine and Cytosine - the pyrimidines). Know that A and T are complementary, and are joined by two hydrogen bonds, whereas G and C are complementary and joined by three hydrogen bonds.

Know about the composition of a nucleotide (i.e. deoxyribose pentose sugar, a phosphate group and a N-containing base), and note that the data booklet that you are given will have the 4 nitrogenous bases if you are required to draw it.
