Hi
I have two questions that have been on the back of my head, if you could please help that'd be much appreciated :)

1)
For Business Management..
I was just wondering if you are ranked around 6-10 out of approx. 80 students - because you dropped approximately 5-10 marks during the whole year.
But you score the highest mark in the exam and lets say you get 100% on the exam (130/130) can you still get a 50, or because you weren't the top rank for SACS you cannot get a 50? This confuses me because they say that if you do amazing on the exam, VCAA will look at your SACS and scale them up.. but I don't get the ranking idea.
Essentially, i've been a bit slack and I really want to lift my game, I just don't know how it can go from here other than me doing my best, but please let me know how much my SAC ranking will effect my chances of getting a 48+ SS (my goal) if I do really well on the exam.

2)
In general for all subjects, if your SAC rank is middle range are you pretty much screwed for getting a 40+ unless you kill the exam?
I get the fact that the actual marks don't matter but the rank does.. but if your rank isn't high does that mean you've blown a high SS?

Thanks

1) I'm not 100% sure but I think a lot of it depends on which school you go to.

I go to a school that's like 300 out of 500 in Victoria so if I did not get ranked 1st in my cohort, my study score would go down quite a bit as other students' bad performance in the exam would affect me and pull me down. If you go to a top ranked school and manage to get a 130/130, 48+ and 50 is definitely possible depending on state performance.

2) Again, it comes down to individual schools I believe.  If you go to MacRob or MelbHigh and are middle rank but you absolutely kill the exam, then 40+ is achievable.. not so much if you go to a middle ranked school. Check out VCE school rankings to see http://bettereducation.com.au/results/vce.aspx

Sorry, hope this helps a bit!

Hey! Firstly, Thanks for the response, I appreciate it! :)

So does that mean that if i'm not rank 1 in a top 50th rank school (my school is ranked around 40-50) and still get 100% perfect score on the exam, I still can't get a 48+ because a) I wasn't ranked 1 and b) because I don't go to a very very highly ranked school ie Melb High or MacRob?

Thanks again
