Your subject selection should depend on your desired course. So what's the course you're aiming for?

-Choose the subjects that you think that you are capable of doing.
-Doing two 3/4s in year 11, is a big relief when it comes to year 12. Put in the extra work in year 11 and you will totally not regret it in year 12. Especially when it comes to SACs and exams.
-It also really depends on what course you want to get into and the prerequisites.
-Doing a language will help you with the scaling as well!

If you are choosing to drop a subject because you don't like it, that's a good idea. If you're replacing it with a subject because it will be good for scaling, that's a bad idea.

I chose Japanese purely for its scaling, then did so poorly in it that it didn't make it into my primary four anyway (and so its scaling was basically useless).

Looking at your subjects/ATAR reqs, I'm assuming you're wanting to do science at Melbourne (could be so wrong, it would be nice if you could tell us what course you want, as Reus has asked), but the fact that you have chem and methods basically means you've made a good decision. If you want to do anything that drifts towards science, as long as you've got those two, you've set yourself up well.

At the end of the day, as long as you take subjects because you enjoy them or think they're interesting, and not only because they scale well, you've made a good decision.

I agree with what some of the others have posted. Seeing as you do not really like legal studies and the other subjects you have selected seem math and science based, I think it is an good idea to drop it. It is not a prerequisite for any uni course either, you do not have much to lose. As for opinions on your selection, it is really up to you. Two subjects in year 11 will really take the load off you in year 12. You may not feel as much pressure in year 11 than in year 12, so just make sure you really work hard on the 3/4 subjects your are doing in year 11 and remember that they matter a whole lot more than your other year 11 subjects.

I'd keep biology too. Especially if you end up doing biochemistry at uni (possibilities are endless). And then do anything out of your interest (people generally choose subjects that scale in order of attaining a high ATAR, but trust me enjoying a subject will allow you to do well!)
