identity and belonging help

I have to do a practice essay for the prompt

"only those who do not belong can have a single identity"

I am trying to write in an expository-based style with personal anecdotes included.

I have two ideas for body paragraphs so far
1. people seek to obtain a unifying sense of identity when faced with rejection and alienation from an external source
2. when a unifying sense of identity is established, there are both positive and negative effects that are brought about as a result.
3. ???

Can anyone help with the 3rd paragraph? Does there necessarily have to be a third paragraph or would 2 be fine?

How about talking about the different identities we adopt in different situations in order to belong? I feel like that's the implication of the prompt, that if we belong, we must have multiple identities (eg the self that we are alone and the self that we are in a group).

You could relate it to TMOAT by talking about how Miller adopts different identities according to the different environments she is in e.g. Wiradjuri country, Kings Cross, etc.
Pls do not send me a pm about Aspire applications. The process has vastly changed since I applied.

You could discuss the idea that the different groups we belong to all have an influence on our identity.

What happens when we find out we belong and we don't immediately embrace that connection?
I think, I speak, I act. Therefore... I create my own reality.
