Learning a new module for the exam?

Hi i was just wondering peoples opinions on learning a new module for the exam? which modules are easiest on the exam? i personally think business maths is quite easy and will probably self learn it instead of doing linear (linears crazy and the trick questions are ridiculous)
any thoughts?
cheers

Shouldn't you just stick to the module you learn at school?

In physics we have to choose one detailed studies from six possible choices. I thought it would be better to just work hard, and study the one we learn at school because I would have access to a teacher that is an expert in that study, and would also get about six weeks in class to study it. All your peers would also be only familiar to the study chosen by the school, so when your having study sessions and stuff you can cooperate with them.

Maybe if you hate your module so much ask your teacher for advice? Or maybe just work really hard in linear, keeping in mind it would be more effective if you did do it.

Any questions related to pathways towards studying dentistry or physiotherapy? Gimmi a PM!

I know how you feel. I hate geo and trig, absolutely horrendus at it, can never manage to get full marks on it (the sac, and the individual sections in the exam), matrices got 100% and doing graphs+relations now.

Im thinking of doing number patterns? maybe business math although ive heard it's really hard??

Just my side of things

Really well said Rod. :D

I don't think it'll make too much of a difference, it might be just more of a hassle in the end. I really didn't like Geometry and Trigonometry, so there was a time where I thought a different module might be nice (some people in my cohort did change). But in the end I decided it'd be better to stick with it and try work on areas of difficulty. Feels like a waste to do all the study in class, do a SAC on the module then just switch to another one.

Honestly, all the modules have their challenging questions - you can't really say one is easier than another. Sure, Business Maths seems to be fairly simple as you mainly use TVM/Finance Solver on your CAS, but there are always going to be questions in any module which are designed to separate the middle ranged students from the high end/elite students.

When I did further I was also doing year 11 spec, so we pretty much covered the trigonometry and geometry module in that. Being a spec student I didn't particularly like networks and so opted fairly early on to do trigonometry and geometry instead. I feel that it was the best decision I could have made for the subject, and the workload of going through the textbook in the extra module was not too high since i was in year 11.

So it is completely up to you, however if you do choose to do a different module follow through with it and don't look back.
