Hey all, I was just after any reviews or opinions in regards to La Trobe University (Bundoora) - specifically, but not limited to the Law program!

All welcome!

I've attended La Trobe since Mar 2013 and what i've seen so far is a very satisfactory performance from La Trobe. Personally in my department (Computer Science and Computer Engineering), we have a broad range of talents and do very well in our area. Cannot comment specifically on Law as I haven't taken a single unit in Law, but i've had a broad range of experiences from Business to Accounting to Management to Mathematics, Statistics and Computing.

Feel free to check out mine and MJRomeo81's subject reviews in the La Trobe uni forum here.. To get a glimpse of what the subjects are typically like (obviously again, not Law but there's a mix of Faculty reviews).

However that being said, the uni is currently going through a restructure so there's most likely going to be job cuts etc. so whether or not that actually impacts teaching quality, well we'll see.

Overall though, I would say a 7/10. If you have any other questions about La Trobe, you can PM me, or MJRomeo81 (or anyone else that goes to La Trobe for that matter that are active members on here, just don't know any others haha).

Comments/opinions/reviews, etc. Can be based on all faculties, however I am looking for a law program review also. - It would be appreciated if you could please outline what your comment is based on. E.g: experience, friends/family, etc.

I'm a first year Arts/Law student here at La Trobe and I'm loving it. If you do a double degree (which most people do), your first semester will consist of two very different (compulsory) subjects: Legal Institutions and Methods (basically a legal studies subject) and Dispute Resolution (focuses on non-judicial resolution of issues and has a large practical component).
I had one lecturer for both of these subjects, and she definitely knew her content, and then a phenomenal seminar leader for Dispute Resolution and a... less phenomenal one for Legal Institutions and Methods. It's just an hour lecture and a two hour seminar per subject each week but you're expected to do a lot of reading/preparation outside of class.
If you have any specific questions, feel free to message me (though I may not reply immediately, I haven't been active on the forums for quite some time).
Good luck with what's left of the year!
