Is IT Unit 1/2 related to 3/4?

Yes it is related. I would like to stress that it is certainly not required for 3/4.

IT Units 1/2 has a mix of Applications and Software Development in it, inclusive of programming/scripting language basics, spreadsheets, project planning (just listed some examples of what it involves).

Kanon:
There are some topics that are related - but they were revisited during unit 3/4. I didn't do unit 1/2 and I still ended up doing well :)
