Picking up Studio Arts in Year 12

I have to pick up a subject in year 12, and I am interested in Media. I did fairly well in year 10 and year 9 Media, however dropped it and am doing all Humanities subjects in year 11 including Business Management 3,4. I am in the process of selecting my subjects for next year, but is Studio Arts a subject which is hard to pick up without doing unit 1 and 2? Also, if I was to pick Studio Arts, what is some good preparation I could do to best prepare for the start of the course.

Late reply, but studio arts is a fairly easy subject to just pick up 3/4. You learn a lot more in 3/4 than 1/2 I found. Just read up on art principles but its all pretty basic !! It's a great subject if you're looking for something a bit more free.
