Are there any girls doing IT Apps for 2015 ?

I am currently in year 11 and there are 2 IT classes and out of 48 Students I am the only female.
I was wondering if this is the case for other schools or is my school just having a lack in Tech Savvy Females ?

Aaron:
You will find this across the board. Information Technology is male-dominated (as bad as that sounds, it's the reality). I really hope it does change in the future though!

I do IT at uni and I would probably say it's 95 to 5 percent ratio (male to female). It was the same scenario when I did IT Apps in Year 12, only 1 female.

Thanks ! I am hopefully going into a Software Engineering Degree, but I Don't mind being the only female hopefully it might be seen as an advantage ! :)

Wow! That's great. Make sure you check out university scholarships, as there are quite a few across many universities that offer them as incentives for women to enter the engineering/computing fields. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about the IT/compsci area. Software engineering is a great area to be interested in.

Yep, it's definitely an advantage due to the shortage.
