Neap 2012 Exam 1 query

Hi all,

I just finished correcting the Neap 2012 Exam 1 paper and I don't understand how my answer for the first question of the core section is incorrect. Can someone help me?

The question is:
"The number of computers in the home of 30 class members is recorded. The best way to display this data would be:
A) stem and leaf plot
B) box plot
C) scatterplot
D) frequency diagram
E) histogram

I interpreted this question to be one relating to numerical data as it says the "number of computers in the home of 30 class members is recorded", which is why I put E as the correct answer. But in the solutions, it says D is the correct answer because it says the question is referring to categorical data.

But how can the question be categorical data when it is the number of computers?! Help me please  :P

Well I think it's saying that 1 computer would be one category, 2 PCs another, 3 PCs another etc.
