Repeating VCE

Thinking about repeating vce year 12 in 2015 considering I have had health issues. I wanna remain anonymous. But just some questions you all may be able to help me out with? Do other schools (different to your last one) take in repeaters. Especially if they have had health problems?  Also, is it vital to be in the zone for year 12 VCE? Im lile 2 streets out of the zone. I want to do year 12 again because I want to get a better atar which I havent achieved first timr im 18 and I want to go back next year to achieve better results and make better friendshipd as I have finally recovered a lot from this illness I had. Well it's somewhat better. There is no age limit on year 12? Is it 21? (Cur the jokes) I feel like its something im dying to do but im too scared to tell my parents and open up. I feel trapped, alone and have to keep lying pretending im ok..soz fot the emotional talk. Anyways please if you could help my brain sleep at night thanks xo

There's no age limit on VCE. You could ask your current school, ask other schools, or consider an adult education centre.

I definitely think this is something you should tell your parents about, or at least a teacher or counsellor at school you trust. Telling your parents may help them too; they probably know there's something upsetting you that you're not telling them, and it might bring them some relief to know what it is exactly.

I usually strongly recommend against repeating VCE though... Usually the better option is to start fresh at uni or tafe. Even if your ATAR isn't high enough to get into your desired course, you can at least spend some time learning things you're personally interested in, and you can always transfer after a semester or year.

I know exams are soon so you're probably the most stressed you've ever been in your life right now, but believe me when I say it'll pass soon enough. You can do no better than your best, but if you give it your best you've got nothing to regret. If it doesn't work out, there's plenty of Plan Bs available to you, but try not to worry about that unless the time comes for it

I agree with Fyrefly. All the ATAR is; is just a numerical number that helps you get into your course, faster really. If you get an ATAR well below what you are aiming for (aim:90, receive: 60) you can always do tafe or go to a lower end university, get amazing scores and transfer into your dream uni. I know someone who received a 68 atar of the top of my head, went to tafe, then moved into monash science, did her 2-3 years their and then sat the UMAT for medicine and got into medicine (true story).

Dont repeat year 12 as you'll regret it later in life, trust me. Although the pathway through TAFE / UNI may take 2-3 more years, you get to start fresh and meet more people.
